In a series of monthly blog posts, we’re shining a spotlight on the people behind Smiley. Take a moment to get to know Carrie!
I’m the Chief Operating Officer. Sometimes that means working with Community, Tech, Finance and HR as well as our vendors, and sometimes that means figuring out how to fix the broken sink.
Where are you from and how long have you been with Smiley?
I’m from the Hudson Valley, a beautiful, mountainous area about 100 miles north of New York City. We grow great apples!
What’s the best part of your job?
The people! And, it’s energizing to be making a contribution in the nascent stages of consumer influence through social media. Everyone has a voice! Everyone has an opportunity to be heard and to make an impact.
What have been some of your favorite missions?
I love all of them! Really – the dedication of Smiley members is so impressive and gratifying. You’re creative: you decorate, bake and brine turkeys. You’re fearless when it comes to helping your fellow consumers: you share your opinions about everything from cold sores, motion sickness and UTIs. You’re helpful: you review and recommend everything from cold medicine and vitamin supplements to toothpaste, floor cleaner and laundry detergent. You eat soup and tuna out of new, portable formats. Phew! You really did a lot in 2013 – I can’t wait to see and hear you in this new year.
What are three things you can’t live without?
My nieces Eline and Evie. Yoga. Avocado.
What is one thing you’d like to say to members of the Smiley community?
